This spring, the libraries will be hosting a campus wide data visualization competition for students to showcase their research related visualizations and compete for prizes.

The competition will be in a lightning talk format, with students signing up for 5 minute slots to showcase and present their work to the judges panel and general audience.

Visualizations from all disciplines are welcome, and should reflect scholarship conducted in Summer ’23, Fall ’23, or Spring ’24. This can be independent research, as well as course work, thesis related, etc. Team work is welcome, and prizes will be split among team members.

Visualizations eligible for the competition include, but are not limited to:

  • charts
  • maps
  • trees
  • networks
  • 3D models
  • technical drawings
  • blueprints
  • animations
