Would you like to propose a new digitization initiative?

We prioritize the digitization and preservation of Lafayette College institutional archives and Special Collections materials. On a discretionary basis, based on staff availability and following a formal project evaluation and ingest process, DSS may commit to projects with faculty, other campus units, or community partners that require digitization services and long-term hosting. In these cases, we prioritize initiatives according to the following criteria:

  • Multidisciplinary interest. We prioritize projects that will benefit multiple areas of the College and add long-term value to the academic program.
  • Alignment with the Lafayette College values of Diversity & Inclusion, Sustainability, and Community Engagement.
  • Potential for student involvement through classroom projects and undergraduate research opportunities.
  • A regional focus on Lafayette College and/or the Lehigh Valley.

Although we don’t have the capacity to partner on every project that we’d like to, we strive to serve as a resource for Lafayette faculty researchers and Lehigh Valley community organizations. If you would like to propose a digitization project of any scale, please complete the DSS Preliminary Request Form.
