Would you like to request digitization services?

Spring 2021 update:

DSS will continue to limit digitization services during the Spring 2021 term out of respect for pandemic-related guidance. DSS will consider digitization requests of materials needed for teaching and publication purposes, but may not be able to accommodate all requests. Please expect a 4-6 week turn around time; large requests may take longer.

Are you a Lafayette faculty member who would like to request high-resolution digital images for a book or other peer-reviewed publication? Please complete the DSS Preliminary Request Form.

Are you a Lafayette faculty member who would like to digitize materials for research or teaching purposes? All faculty are eligible for three hours of DSS staff time per semester of scanning on the Skillman Library Bookeye large-format scanner, which can handle items with dimensions a maximum of approximately 21 x 31 inches. Please complete the DSS Preliminary Request Form, and a DSS staff member will follow up with you regarding available time slots and to coordinate drop-off and pick-up of your research materials.

Are you a member of a Lehigh Valley cultural heritage institution or community organization who would like to digitize materials for research, teaching, or other community engagement purposes?  Based on staff capacity we strive to serve as a resource for Lehigh Valley community partners.  Please complete the DSS Preliminary Request Form, and a DSS staff member will follow up with you.

Are you a scholar who would like to include images from our digital collections in a publication?  On a discretionary basis, Lafayette College Libraries may provide high-resolution archival image reproductions (free of charge, usually within 2-4 weeks) for peer-reviewed digital projects and book publications.  To request digitizations, contact archives@lafayette.edu.
